Within 5 seconds after I got in the taxi for my afternoon ride home, my taxi driver asked me where I was from.
When I told him, a big smile came on his face and he said with his awkwardly cute Pakistani accent, "I love Americans!"
I tried to talk more with him after that, but I could tell his English wasn't too hot. So I just let it go and gave him a big smile and 'thank you' when the cab ride was over.
I seriously am a big fan of Pakistanis. They're funny, they make great food, and most of the ones I meet are just really nice, down-to-earth people. To me, it seems really strange that we're fighting a war against some of them.
