I saw this the second or third day. It was like heaven. Do you see all those sandwiches? Finding something of this quality and quantity in Korea is next to impossible. Not only that, but do you realize how cheap this stuff is? Take the price, divide it by 3.65. That's right, these are only $2.70. And they were good. Really good.
Song was working during the 2 weeks I was there, so I got to chill out around the house and catch up on some video games. I also made it a point to walk around the neighborhood and check out what the street scene was like. It was pretty interesting; her building is full of people working for her airline, but then everything that surrounds her is focused on migrant workers from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and other such countries, so most of the shops and restaurants cater to those ethnicities.
Stuffed dried dates are a local delicacy, and Song absolutely loves them. I tried them out and I thought they were pretty good. Some are filled with nuts and others with dried fruit. Or, sometimes they still had the seed inside. I don't think I'd had them in America, so it was cool to find something local that was good, healthy, and delicious.
Perhaps not the best video ever, but the basic premise is that a really cute little (Pakistani?) girl was singing this song to a crowd of local people. Later, Song and I sang Beauty and the Beast. We didn't do very well, but one girl told us that we were really good as we were walking out. Either way it was a pretty fun time. It was something you wouldn't expect at a mall in Dubai, but then again, most of Dubai is something you wouldn't expect.
