With my new push to focus more on writing this summer, I've tried to prep myself mentally by committing to writing down any interesting thoughts that come my way. This poses a problem, because most of the interesting thoughts that come my way happen to be while I'm going to sleep or when I wake up in the middle of the night. It's tough to force myself to roll over and write it down, and also, when I wake up, I usually realize it's crap. Such was last night's revolutionary break though, which forced me to walk to the living room at 4 am to find a scratch piece of paper to write it down on:
"Anyone who tells me they're in a bar, in a bar, is in a bar."
I woke up and looked at it, and I've been thinking about it ever since, trying to piece together it's apparent genius. No luck so far.
