I'm reading a textbook called "Becoming a Teacher." It's for my EDU 271 class that I'm taking online.
I'm in chapter 7, and about halfway through the chapter. It's about ethical issues, and the current page I'm at is about police being used in schools. I notice a picture in the top left corner. There's a police officer in it.
I go back to reading, but then I jerk my eyes back to the picture; I know that police officer. I look closer at her face: I've definitely met her before. I look at the other people in the picture. They're all students. I look at the first student's face - I know that kid!
Sure enough, it's one of the middle schools that I had substituted at in Austin. It's called Park Crest, and I can remember that I had that student in a math class, and I definitely remember being introduced to that police officer. To top it off, the student is wearing a UT hoodie.
Interesting, huh?
