Otherwise known as "Oriental Medicine" or "Chinese Medicine," it seems a bit odd, but it works. Well, at least, it worked for me. I'd hurt my back pretty bad, and after 3 days of writhing in pain, my co-worker convinced me to go to a clinic that offers traditional medicine. I got electroshock therapy treatment, acupuncture, and then those suction cup thingies. Everything lasted about 15 minutes each. No, the needles didn't hurt. They just felt kinda weird. Not unpleasant, though.
And, since the Korean healthcare system is so rockin', it cost me just $6.00. Yes, I have insurance, but the last time I checked, it only pays 50%. Korea's definitely the best place in the world to get sick or hurt, hands down.
The doctor's really nice. There's a nurse there that's always really happy when I come. I guess I'm the only foreigner that's probably ever gone there, so it kinda makes me a celebrity.
