Song + Dubai

I had a great time in Dubai with Song. I've got a lot to talk about, but since I just got back yesterday, I'm still trying to sort things out. (Fun Fact: I was upgraded to Business Class on my flight from Dubai to Beijing. It was my first time ever, so I had a great time.) The time difference is really killing me. I went to sleep at 9 in the morning today. Ugh.

Anyways, I've got a lot of shots and little videos about things I saw and did in Dubai. I'll admit that I spent a good deal of time just relaxing, and that I only got to see a bit of it all. But, there's always next time.


Here's a shot of Song going to buy a watch at one of the malls we went to. I just wanted to take the shot to kind of let you know that things really aren't all that different. I mean, you've got a mall, and lots of little stands in the mall. And although most of people in the picture here are from that section of the world, you'd be surprised how little both me and her stood out in most of the places that we went. In Korea, people are always looking at me. But in Dubai, I didn't feel hardly any of that.
Also, off to the right is a really big grocery store. It's slightly better than HEB, and the prices were really good. I was kinda worried that everything would be expensive in Dubai, but it seemed like the daily essentials were all the same or cheaper than in the US. The two main things that seemed a lot cheaper were gas and grocery store food (eating out seemed almost as expensive as in the US).
Anyways, I'll talk more about that next time. Just wanted to say that I'm back in Korea now, and ready for some more cold weather.
