Status update

So, things went south for a moment there, and then north, and then kinda sideways. Now they seem to be getting back on track though.

Last week my boss told me that our agreement to extend my contract was off, citing some financial troubles.

That really messed things up for me, I thought. It seemed too late to get the ball rolling on any of the good jobs for the upcoming semester (I'd planned to work through it at my current job and get in on the good jobs in the spring).

Well, things went up and down for a while. A lot of soul searching for documents and places to apply and trying to scrounge up whatever jobs still remained while at the same time keeping in mind that I should've been doing this two months ago instead of at the last minute's notice kept me well away from activities like blogging and studying Korean.

But, I emerge a little over a week later, and it seems that I may get a (possibly) really good job that will start at the (possibly) perfect time in a (quite possibly) really good suburb of Seoul. I interviewed two days ago, and am just trying to get the initial verification of documents through. If things go according to plan, I'll be sending the full list of required docs off next week, and will be set to start work on October 6th, which is the week immediately following the finish of my current job.

There's still a couple of 'buts' and 'what ifs' lurking around, but this could definitely work out great. Without going into details, this could turn out to be perfect from a financial perspective. In fact, it might turn out to be perfect from a lot of perspectives. Who knows.

Anyways, this picture is of Antonio. He's one of only two kids in our 350-kid school who has a Mexican/Spanish name as an English name. I really enjoy him, mostly because he's not in any of my classes. Cute kid though. You can't tell it from the picture, but he's a really snappy dresser.
