What hath I wrought

Korean culture is pretty far removed from the American southwest, which has led to me having a really rough time when it comes to Korean girls.

I've done a lot of thinking and asking around, but I haven't gotten very far when it comes to figuring out much of anything, other than a lot of ways not to meet/deal with Korean girls.

In an effort to leave no stone unturned, I asked the director of my school today if she had any advice. My reasoning was that she has this grandmotherly feel to her, and I figured who better to ask than somebody who's old and wise and has been working with people like me for years and years and has probably been asked by other teachers like me before.

Well, things didn't go all as planned. She immediately decided that the best course of action would be for her to ask all my fellow teachers what I should do, as she claimed she was too old to know what young people do these days. This was not at all what I'd had in mind, and I couldn't think of anyway to take it all back.

It wasn't long before I was the talk of the office. My Korean was just good enough to pick up the focus of numerous conversations centered on me and my dilemma.

I told Ciaran, my Irish co-worker, what I'd done and he just hung his head.

Best possible ending: My director gives up and everybody goes back to their own business.
Worst possible ending: My director forces my co-workers to hang out with me on weekends.
Most-likely ending: I don't know, but I sense more awkward moments to come.
