Difference #1: Grammar

It's pretty understandable, really. I mean, you see things like this back in America. It just happens over here more often. It was really funny at first. Now it's just kinda funny, depending on the circumstance.

Take this first picture for example. A common shoe store franchise, it happens to share names with a highly communicable skin disease of the feet. It also simultaneously proposes that not only does it share names, but that it is the first in its class.

The bit of humor with the shoe store is child's play, and I see that medium level of amusement about once a week, be it a shirt or some advertising. However, this Angel Coco children's diary book is the kind of stuff that is decently rare but, when it happens, it's always good for a laugh. If you look closely, you'll notice that one of its tag lines is priceless. I found two of these in my apartment, and I can't wait to finish my old journal so I can start using them.

Whenever I see such errors, I also kind of wince. So far, I've been here almost two weeks, and I could've learned triple the amount of Spanish compared to what I've learned in Korean if I'd been in a Spanish-speaking country. I must constantly drill even the most basic of things into my head to get them to stick. It's grueling work. I feel like a beautiful tiny pig trying to run from the ocean's waves, only to be received by the relentlessly happy tide.
