For the past 3 summers, one of the activities I've done for the kids is teaching a class called Relationships 101.
The first thing I always talk about is intros. A good intro consists of 4 steps:
1. Greeting
2. Give your name
3. Get their name
4. Solid conversation starter

So the other night, I went up to a girl sitting at a corner table and said, "Hey, are you here with anyone tonight?"
She said, "No."
I followed up with some line about taking her out to dinner sometime.
She replied by telling me that she was married.

If only those kids knew how little I follow my own curriculum.
