There are other worlds than these

I'm working through The Dark Tower series, by Stephen King. One of the characters, Jake Chambers, is quoted several times as saying, "Go then. There are other worlds than these."
Even though I've been working on this series for about six years, I just realized last week that what he says might apply to my life.
You see, I often get caught up in the circumstances of my immediate situation, and fail to remember that there are 'other worlds,' or times and places, that I must not forget about. I think a younger me would have been really torn between staying with those British girls or continuing with my journey. I, however, knew that even though hanging out with them was something that I was very comfortable with, I still had many "other worlds" to explore throughout my trip.
If you don't get the analogy, don't stress it. I've read almost the whole series and you probably haven't. It's not you. It's me.
