I finished "The Cider House Rules" a couple weeks ago...

I work in an autism class at a local elementary school sometimes. Most of the students there are non-verbal, and need to carry around their "words" (a box with picture buttons that the students can use to express themselves). The buttons contain simple pictures and words/phrases that a student would commonly use, such as a picture of a ball, and the word "ball."
On Tuesday, one of the students received a new set of "words." I was given the task of recording all the words for the corresponding buttons.
So now, every time the student presses the "I want" button, my voice says, "I want." Every time he presses the "water" button, I say, "Water," for him.
Until he breaks that unit, I will be his voice. It makes me feel of use.
