I visited my friend Jake yesterday. He's currently in tech school at Sheppard AFB, and within two months he'll be stationed in Tucson, AZ. I was pleased to find out that he is doing well. He is in a leadership position, and from what I could tell, he has the respect of everyone both below and above him.
He and his friends showed me around the base, and I got to eat in the 'Chow House' (I think that's what they called it). Later on I took them to the mall so they could blow their hard-earned money, and after that we spent some time at the Airmen's Club on base, then the Iron Horse Pub, and finally topped off the night at the local Sonic.
I've always known that Jake's a good guy, and it's easy to see that he'll do well, since he's got a good mind and good heart. I was glad I got to see him, and I'm proud that he's serving my country.
